Dear Warden Community Church Members and Friends,
The Warden Community Church (WCC) Search Committee and Church Cabinet have met and
unanimously voted to invite a pastoral candidate, David Marks, to present himself and his wife to the congregation and church service on Sunday, December 7, 2025. You are invited to join us on this Sunday as he leads us in worship and communion. We will have a potluck after church service to get to know the candidate and his wife. You will be able to ask questions of him and Mili during and after the potluck. The church will be providing steak, chicken and drinks, we are asking individuals to bring salads, sides and desserts. After church on the following Sunday, December 14, the church cabinet will call for a Congregational Meeting for members of the WCC to vote on whether to call Dave Marks as pastor of the Warden Community Church.
The search committee has interviewed, contacted references, met and attended a church service Dave presented as guest speaker. Dave and his wife, Mili, currently live in Tacoma where they serve and worship at the Life Center Church. This will be Dave’s first pastorate; however, he has had a long ministry of teaching and discipleship. Dave is currently working on his Doctorate of Ministry. He and Mili have a burden for a shared bilingual ministry to the Latino population and are looking forward to ministering to the Warden community. We have attached a biography with additional information about them.
The search committee started in late September 2024 with nine volunteers. Through the course of time, three volunteers were unable to complete their commitment to the committee. The current committee is made up of Vicki Underhill, Jenny Crow, Craig Schafer, Shawn Shuler, Patty Kisler, Secretary and Jeff Kottong, Chairperson. The committee met 42 times over the past 14 months. We received 22 pastoral candidate applications, all through fee based online pastoral search firms. It has been the focus and desire of the committee to pray for and realize God’s direction in this process. The committee has understood from the beginning God has a prepared a person to continue to lead our church in ministry to this community. It has been our prayer and focus to seek the individual God has called for us.
Please be available to attend Sunday worship and the potluck on December 7th to meet Dave and Mili. We trust you will get to know their love for Jesus Christ, and eternal God of the Bible. We also hope you will understand their desire to come to the Warden Community Church and minister along side us to glorify God and to share His word and the saving grace of Jesus Christ.
Prayerfully and Sincerely,
Jeff Kottong
Chairperson, Warden Community Church Search Committee
