Mission/Vision Statement

Worship is a celebration of the Holy Spirit in our church body through prayer, music, communion, praise and thanksgiving. We share in the reading, understanding, and teaching of God’s word. We minister to one another by using our God-given gifts to strengthen and build the church family as we grow in our commitment as disciples of Christ. We fellowship as a church family, brothers and sisters in Christ. We walk together in the light of salvation by the love of God the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. By the authority of Jesus Christ, we share the Gospel in our community and support those who share it with the world. We are committed to discipleship through lifelong training and learning that empowers all to spread God’s Word.

The theological position of our church

Acknowledging Jesus Christ to be our Savior and Lord, and accepting the Holy Scriptures as our rule of faith and practice, and recognizing the privilege and duty of uniting ourselves for Christian fellowship, the enjoyment of Christian ordinances, the public worship of God, and the advancement of His kingdom in the world, we do now, in the sight of God and invoking his blessing, solemnly covenant and agree with each other to associate ourselves to be a church of the Lord Jesus Christ, as warranted by the Word of God. We agree to maintain the institutions of the Gospel, to submit ourselves to the orderly administration of the affairs of the church, and to walk together in brotherly love. We agree to support the church with gifts of time, talent, and treasure. “And this we do depending upon the aid of our heavenly Father, who so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son for our salvation, and of Jesus Christ who hath redeemed us, and of the Holy Spirit our Comforter and Guide.”

About our building

The church, built in 1908, is a welcoming and thoughtfully designed space that facilitates both worship and community connection. Upon entering through the main doors, visitors find themselves in a spacious entryway. The entry leads directly into the narthex, which serves as a gathering area for fellowship and quiet reflection before entering the sanctuary. The sanctuary is a beautifully lit space with high ceilings, creating a sense of reverence and tranquility. On the right side of the sanctuary, a choir loft overlooks the congregation, enhancing the musical experience during worship services. At the front of the sanctuary, the pulpit is positioned on the right side, while the lectern is placed on the left, offering balanced perspectives for scripture readings and sermons. From the narthex, a doorway leads to the fellowship hall, where the church community can gather after services. The fellowship hall includes a stage, which is used as a classroom as well as being suitable for performances and events, and a fully equipped kitchen that supports meals and refreshments. Adjacent to this area is a library, providing space for study and reflection. Next to the library is an office for the pastor’s use. The fellowship hall also offers convenient handicap-accessible restrooms. Off to the side of the entryway, a hallway leads to a family bathroom and a nursery, providing essential services for families with young children. At the end of the hallway, a quiet room offers a serene space where individuals can reflect, pray, or simply find a moment of peace. This room is thoughtfully designed to allow clear sight and sound to the sanctuary, so that those who use it can still be part of the worship experience. Through the quiet room, a doorway leads to the belfry, where visitors can explore the bell tower, which is accessible by stairs. The upper rooms house a classroom for educational programs, as well as additional storage spaces. This church is a place where individuals and families can gather, worship, and connect in an environment that is both functional and filled with grace. Its design ensures accessibility and comfort for all while providing sacred spaces for spiritual growth and community engagement.

Community information:

We are a smaller rural community in a primarily agricultural setting. The community is very supportive of the church and school. The school is PK-12 in a single campus setting with about 950 students. We are located in the heart of the Columbia Basin, a desert area of Washington. All four entries into town are bordered by crops and agricultural businesses as well as trees, barrels of flowers, and antique farm equipment. Our climate has all four seasons and we have many recreational activities nearby; fishing, hunting, camping, skiing, ORV park, hiking, etc. We are located about 20 miles south of Moses Lake which has modern medical and hospital facilities. We are also about 60 miles north of the Tri-Cities with a large shopping mall, Costco, etc.

If you feel you could be a part of our endeavor to spread the Word, please consider applying for our open position here.
